Management and Board

We have a skilled and experienced management team with diverse professional backgrounds ranging from engineering and material science to finance and manufacturing. Our management team, led by our CEO Mr. Xianshou Li, a pioneer in China's solar power industry, possesses a unique combination of skills and expertise that has allowed us to achieve a successful track record of strategic execution.

Our board of directors is comprised of three independent directors and two executive directors, all of which have extensive board experience. The independent directors are independent of management and free from any business or other relationships that could materially interfere with the exercising of independent judgment. Independent director Mr. Martin Bloom serves as the chairman of the board.
 


 


Mr. Xianshou Li
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Xianshou Li has been our director and chief executive officer since March 2005. Prior to founding our solar power business in 2005, Mr. Li founded Yuhuan Solar Energy Source Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of solar cell and module products for both commercial and residential applications and served as the chairman since its inception. Mr. Li also served as the general manager of Yuhuan County Solar Energy Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of mini solar panels and solar cell modules from 2002 to 2006. He worked as a government official in the Yuhuan County Culture Bureau from 1997 to 2000. Mr. Li received his bachelor′s degree in industrial engineering management from Zhejiang Industrial University in 1991. (Born in 1968)

Mr. Charles Xiaoshu Bai
Chief Strategy Officer

Mr. Charles Bai has been our chief strategy officer since April 2010. Previously, Mr. Bai served as our chief financial officer from May 2006 to April 2010. Prior to joining ReneSola, Mr. Bai worked for over 16 years with investment banks and multinational companies. From 2003 to 2005, he worked as the chief financial officer of Fenet Software. From 2001 to 2002, he worked as a vice president of Tractebel Asia Co. Ltd., an energy company based in Thailand. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Bai worked as a finance director of Ogden Energy Asia Pacific Co. Ltd., an energy company based in Hong Kong. At Tractebel and Ogden, Mr. Bai successfully completed a number of cross border mergers and acquisitions and project finance transactions. He was an associate director of Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong from 1995 to 1997 specializing in project and export finance. Mr. Bai received his bachelor′s degree in economics from China Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in 1983 and his MBA degree from IMD Business School in 1989. (Born in 1961)

Mr. Henry Wang
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Henry Wang has been our chief financial officer since July 2011. Mr. Wang first joined the company in January 2010 and served as our vice president of finance from April 2010 to June 2011. He has over 18 years of experience in financial services with extensive experience in accounting and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Renesola, Mr. Wang worked for various US-listed companies and is well-versed in US Gaap and IFRS, and has deep experience in financial reporting, SOX compliance, budgeting and control, and other financial and accounting matters. Prior to his appointment as CFO, Mr. Wang was responsible for and will continue to be responsible for our internal control, cost control, and cash flow management initiatives. Prior to joining ReneSola, Mr. Wang served as vice president of finance for YRCW China Ground Transportation Business from 2008 to 2010, and financial controller for the China branch of Expeditors International Incorporation from 2004 to 2008. Mr. Wang also worked in various roles in the manufacturing industry for 11 years at both multinational and domestic companies, and has extensive experience in financial control and cost control. Mr. Wang holds CPA and CIA certifications and received a bachelor’s degree in law from Shanghai Jiaotong University and MBA from Hong Kong Opening University. (Born in 1973)

Mr. Zhidong Zheng
Senior vice president of wafer technology

Mr. Zheng has served as R&D director of wafer technology for ReneSola since February 2009, leading the Company in reducing its wafer degradation and improving cell efficiencies. Mr. Zheng has over twenty years of research and engineering experience with extensive knowledge in optical and photovoltaic processes and operations. Prior to joining ReneSola, from 2005 to 2009, Mr. Zheng served as vice president of technology and operations for Jinggong Shaoxin Solar Energy, where he contributed significantly to the manufacturing of the first Chinese-made multicrystalline furnace. From 1989 to 2005, Mr. Zheng worked as an optical crystal engineer and department manager for a variety of companies in Singapore, as well as Zhejiang University. Mr. Zheng received a bachelor′s degree in Optics Engineering from Zhejiang University in 1989.

Mr. Anthony (Tony) Hung
Vice President of International Finance

Mr. Tony Hung has served as our vice president of international corporate finance and corporate communications since July 2011. He has worked in corporate finance for approximately ten years with extensive investment banking and capital markets experience in both the United States and China. Prior to joining ReneSola, Mr. Hung worked at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong where he was involved in a number of capital market transactions, including ReneSola's various capital markets transactions, from 2005 to 2009. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Hung worked as an associate at Bastion Capital Corporation in Los Angeles from 2000 to 2002 and at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in New York in Investment Banking from 1997 to 1999. He also served as chief financial officer for Nasdaq-listed Wowjoint Holdings in 2010 and co-founded Ave3D Inc. in 1999. In 2009, Mr. Hung volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in Sichuan, where he served as a team leader for reconstruction following the Sichuan earthquake of 2008. He received his bachelor's degree from New York University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. (Born in 1975)

Mr. Stephen Huang
President of Asia-Pacific Region

Mr. Stephen Huang has been the President of our Asia-Pacific region since Jan. 2012. Prior to becoming President, he was our vice president of wafer sales since Dec. 2009. Mr. Huang, a former reserve officer for the Taiwan Marine Corps, has over 18 years of managerial and sales experience, including 15 years in the semiconductor and solar industry. Prior to joining ReneSola, Mr. Huang worked at Topco Scientific Co., Ltd. from 1994 to 2009, where he began as a wafer sales specialist. He served as director of their wafer materials division from 2004 to 2006 and vice president in charge of both wafer materials and photovoltaic busines from 2006 to 2009. From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Huang worked as HR supervisor for Toshiba Compressor (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. Before joining the Taiwan Marine Corps, Mr. Huang received his bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics from Taiwan University. (Born in 1966)

Mr. Tim Jia
Vice President of Human Resources

Before joining ReneSola, Mr. Jia served as director of Ingersoll Rand Engineering and Technology Center′s human resources and engineering administration department in Shanghai, China from 2003 to 2010. He has approximately 20 years of managerial experience with more than a decade of experience in human resources. Prior to Ingersoll Rand, Mr. Jia worked at Shuangliang Group and Shuangliang Trane Joint Venture for 18 years, where he served in several managerial positions including the director of human resources. Mr. Jia received undergraduate degrees in Machinery Engineering from Wuxi Mechanical Technology College in 1986 and Computer Engineering from Nanjing University in 1991. He also received an MBA from the Open University of Hong Kong in 2000 and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Law at the China University of Political Science and Law.

Mr. Robin Liu
Vice president of wafer manufacturing

Mr. Robin Liu has been our vice president of wafer manufacturing since November 2010. Mr. Liu previously served as our vice general manager and director of our silicon wafer division. Mr. Liu has over 14 years of experience in engineering and operations management, having previously served as a senior manufacturing manager at Kemet (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., industrial operations manager at Schneider (Suzhou) Transformers Co., Ltd., a manufacturing center manager and head of production and engineering at Royal Philips Electronic Sound Solutions Beijing, and an engineer with The Waterborne Transportation Institute of The Ministry of Communications. Mr. Liu received a degree in mechanical engineering from Shanghai Tongji University in 1996.

Mr. John Ding
VP of Internal Control and Audit

Mr. Ding previously served as director of internal control and audit for ReneSola since 2009. With nearly twenty years of work experience in finance, including more than ten years of management experience and over five years of internal control and audit experience at US-listed companies, Mr. Ding has comprehensive knowledge in accounting, tax policies, credit control and physical asset management. Before joining ReneSola, Mr. Ding served as director of internal audit and SOX compliance at The9 Limited from 2008 to 2009 and held positions in credit, tax and internal control departments at Dell (China) Co., Ltd. from 2003 to 2008. Mr. Ding received a bachelor's degree in international economics and trade from Fudan University as well as a master's degree in professional accounting from Xiamen University. He holds CIA and CCSA certificates.

Mr. Charles Ding
Vice President of Global Sourcing

Mr. Charles Ding been our vice president of global sourcing since August 2011. He has over 22 years of engineering and executive experience with extensive aerospace and automotive experience in both the United States and China. He has worked as an engineer and supply chain executive for several multinational automotive companies, including Johnson Controls, ArvinMeritor and GDX Automotive in the United States. Before receiving a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo in 1997, Mr. Ding served as an engineer at Parker Hannifin Corporation in the United States and China Aerospace Corporation (now CNSA) in China. Mr. Ding received a bachelor′s degree in mechanical engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology in 1989.
