MONTERREY, N.L. - After several months of construction the Photovoltaic Project of Global Solare for the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) was finalized. This great system with a capacity of 120.36 kwp was built in the state of Nuevo León, in order to have a positive impact on the environment and quantifiable savings on energy costs.
Enrique Peña Nieto, the President of Mexico, held the inauguration of the photovoltaic project in the 7th zone of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) in Nuevo León on 19th February 2016.
This big project used 472 ReneSola solar panels, which can convert sunlight into DC electricity, 6 pieces of power inverters, which can convert DC current into AC current by coupling the voltage and frequency of the network for use, as well as a bidirectional meter, which measures the amount of energy delivered by the system to the network and a monitoring system that measures and sends data for analysis and control.
"SEDENA now produces 218.4 Mwh of energy per year, with a consequent decrease of 158.54 tons of CO2 annually, which is the equivalent of producing energy for almost 200 houses and planting 3,708 trees."
The commitment of this project had a positive impact for the planet and achieved quantifiable savings in the energy costs by generating its own energy.
